Women in warehousing and fulfillment with Danielle Csibi
The prominence of women in fulfillment and warehousing companies has undergone a significant transformation in recent years. Moreover, historically male-dominated, these industries have seen a notable shift towards gender diversity. As a result, women are thriving in roles that were once exclusive to their male counterparts.
Fulfillment companies, which are at the heart of the e-commerce and supply chain sectors, have recognized the untapped potential of women in their workforce. Additionally, they have actively promoted gender-inclusive hiring practices. This includes providing opportunities for women to excel in various roles, including order picking, inventory management, quality control, and leadership positions.
This change is driven by several factors, including the need to address labor shortages and leverage a broader talent pool. Additionally, women have proven themselves to be highly competent in these fields, showcasing their attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective communication abilities.
Furthermore, advocacy groups and support networks have emerged to empower and mentor women in fulfillment and warehousing. These initiatives aim to help women overcome challenges and break down gender stereotypes. Legal and ethical considerations have also played a role in fostering diversity and inclusivity within these industries.
As a result, women in fulfillment and warehousing have not only gained prominence but have thrived, contributing to the overall success and efficiency of these companies. They serve as a testament to the transformative power of diversity and equal opportunities in the workplace. Their success continues to inspire more women to pursue careers in these dynamic sectors.

Let’s read about her personal experience in the Fulfillment and Warehousing Industry.
1. Where did you grow up, about yourself?
I grew up in Lake Ronkonkoma, NY on Long Island. Went to Sachem High School and graduated in 2006. And received my Bachelor in Science in Marketing from SUNY New Paltz in 2010. I am the Director of Operations at Fulfillment Plus Inc. and have been with the company for over 10 years! I have been happily married to my husband Armin for 7 years (whom I met at FPI!) and we have two beautiful sons- Cristiano, 6 and Salvatore 3. We currently live in East Islip, NY.
2. How did you enter the Fulfillment/warehousing/logistics industry?
Believe it or not, it was by accident, I had been working as a Marketing Specialist at Henry Schein Inc. at the time and was looking for a change. I was job searching for marketing/client service roles more than anything as that is what my background was. Fulfillment Plus was looking for an Account Executive/Marketing Assistant. I found the description interesting and different than what I had been doing at the time so I took a chance! I worked my way up the ladder, crossed over into operations and never looked back!
3. What do you like about it? What are some of the challenges you have faced?
I like how every day is different, I am never bored. I feel like I found a good niche where I can utilize my marketing skills towards putting together influencer and PR mailers while using my operations skills to fully execute the project successfully. Over the years, of course, timing is always a moving target. Getting the projects out the door when the clients want them to be. However, items arrive late, and items get damaged. Things always come up last minute, so the juggle of making sure the kit is perfectly produced while having it arrive on time is always a challenge.
However, I learn something new each time on how I can do something different to prevent some of the last-minute hiccups. It’s been smoother. I also implemented hierarchy levels of QC processing with my production and warehouse teams which has shown to be successful in daily tasks of the fulfillment programs I manage.
4. Trends and changes you have noticed in the past 3 years/post covid
I am seeing a huge uptick in influencer kits. I have worked with many marketing agencies and social media influencers running the world, especially in the past few years. Catalog mailings/print mailings are down, it’s all about pushing products and brands on social media.
Of course, e-commerce in general is booming. More and more customers are going to websites and Amazon for their purchases vs. brick-and-mortar stores. Our clients who had POs with big retailers are unfortunately losing that business. It’s forcing them to be creative with their marketing for other outlets with e-commerce.
At Fulfillment Plus we actively champion gender equality in the fulfillment industry. With a thriving community of women in our organization, including our outstanding leader, Danielle Csibi, we bring together a wealth of diverse skills and perspectives. By choosing Fulfillment Plus, brands not only benefit from our cutting-edge technology, efficient logistics, and exceptional customer service but also contribute to a more equitable and empowering work environment.
